Building Sustainable Change

Connect. Learn. Share. Act is a model, rooted in collaboration, knowledge exchange, and collective action to support smallholder farmers in building resilient livelihoods and restoring the environment.

Building lasting change begins with people coming together. We create opportunities for communities, partners, and supporters to engage meaningfully in driving sustainable rural development.

Connect

We bring people together.

SHCAN connects smallholder farmers, local leaders, development partners, and supporters to build strong relationships that drive community-led change. By working closely with grassroots communities in Hoima, Uganda, we ensure that our programs are inclusive, locally relevant, and impactful.

We also connect with partners and supporters across Denmark and Europe to build bridges between communities and create opportunities for collaboration, learning, and support.

Learn

We build knowledge and skills.

Learning is at the heart of everything we do. We equip farmers—especially women and youth—with practical skills in sustainable agriculture, soil health improvement, and climate resilience.

Through trainings, demonstrations, and peer learning, farmers gain the tools they need to improve productivity, protect their land, and adapt to climate challenges.

We also learn from the communities we serve, ensuring that local knowledge shapes our programs and strengthens our impact.

Share

We amplify voices and experiences.

We believe in sharing knowledge, stories, and lessons learned to inspire change beyond the communities we work with. SHCAN documents and shares experiences from the field to highlight the realities, challenges, and successes of smallholder farmers.

By sharing these stories with partners, donors, and the global community, we raise awareness about sustainable agriculture, climate action, and community-led development.

Act

We turn knowledge into impact.

Action is where change happens. SHCAN supports farmers and communities to put knowledge into practice through sustainable agriculture initiatives, climate-smart solutions, and livelihood programs.

From soil restoration and agroecology to women’s empowerment and farmer group strengthening, our work is focused on creating real, measurable impact that improves lives and protects the environment.
