Economic empowerment allows women to control and benefit from resources, assets, and income. We have a special focus on empowering female farmers as drivers for social change. We recognise that men are also an integral part of achieving healthy and thriving families.
Our goal is to holistically improve the lives of households. We are supporting female farmers to diversify their incomes, ensure access to clean water, good hygiene and sanitation, improved nutrition, and a having building supportive social circles.
Micro businesses boost rural women’s confidence, independence and leadership skills.
Our Microloans Project is designed to empower rural women by unlocking their potential as entrepreneurs and change-makers. Through small, flexible, and interest-free loans, we support women to start or expand income-generating activities such as vegetable farming, beekeeping, piggery, and small-scale trade. These loans are accompanied by mentorship, leadership training, and financial literacy support to ensure women not only access capital but also gain the skills to manage and grow their businesses sustainably.
Our beekeeping project supports rural women and youth in Hoima, Uganda, to earn a sustainable income while protecting the environment. We provide training, starter kits, and ongoing support to help participants set up and manage modern beehives.
Beekeeping is a low-cost, high-impact activity that improves livelihoods without requiring large land areas or expensive inputs, making it ideal for smallholder farmers.
Beyond income generation, the project also promotes biodiversity and climate resilience. Bees play a key role in pollinating crops and native plants, which helps increase food production and restore ecosystems.
We are an NGO that is helping rural smallholder farmers in Uganda to grow their way out of extreme poverty. We do this by promoting sustainable agriculture, climate change mitigation actions and amplifying women’s inclusive in community development.
